On september 11th, Fulgeance will be our guest at our first SKIP INTRO night at Flexbar, Amsterdam. To get a idea of what to expect check out the preview of his latest EP called 'Smart Banging' wich is out now on One Handed Music.
‘Smartbanging’: it’s a made up word, but it’s as good as any to describe the style of this French don of the MPC2000: he makes the kind of goodtime party music that never goes out of fashion – but he’s about as far from ‘fashion’ as you can get. And he makes it all with a musical finesse that elevates it above the dumb club bangers and offers nourishment for the head as well as fuel for the feet. His EP features four of his own mutant discoid cuts and a strange, mesmerising late night trip from Detroit electro wunderkind Jimmy Edgar.
To get in the mood here's a short clip of Fulgeance' live set at BOOGIEBOXXX..
The next edition of POESPAS will take place on friday july 17th @ Club Up. Stefan Glerum hooked us up with yet another classic illustration. Herrie Gekkehuis, Lamme Tonnie & O.Boogie will provide the music. See you all there?
Of Film was created by a collective of young creatives from Amsterdam. They will provide a new and innovative platform for art and film starting with the up and coming festival - Loads of Film.
The key concept behind Of Film is the location. Each festival will have its own unique and abstract location therefore providing the audience with a new and altogether different experience. The first festival, Loads of Film, will take place in an old wooden framing factory located near the Westerpark, in the heart of Amsterdam. A variety of genres and themes will provide the backdrop for Loads of Film including Americana, Hours of Darkness and D.I.Y (Do-It-Yourself) as well as a selection of cold drinks and a BBQ Extravaganza.
Loads Of Film will run for 3 days and will end with a big party.
